The 3-D Image Exhibit

Also, check out our 3-D movies and images

The following images were obtained from either earth orbit by SIR-C (on the Space Shuttle Endeavour), or from an airborne laboratory (AIRSAR) flying at 33,000 ft. By acquiring and processing "Interferometric SAR" data from these instruments, we can obtain maps of the topography of the areas illuminated by these imaging radars. From these maps of topography, we can form perspective views, 3-d analglyphs, and video fly-bys of the data (using the radar brightness as the intensity and the color indicating either height contours or frequency /polarization effects).

The following images do not necessarily have associated image captions at this time. Check out the airsar home page to find out more about the topsar images.
