These are movies and images obtained from imaging radar data.
These MPEG movies were derived from a single AIRSAR/TOPSAR dataset over the San Fernando Valley area on May 26, 1994 at 2 am. The heights are not exaggerated. Pixels of like color have the same height (though the choice of colors is arbitrary). We chose single paths through the data to make into these mpeg movies - any path through areas that we have data could have been chosen.
In the 3-D movies, the red and blue/green colors are used to achieve the 3-D effect; with the 3-D glasses on, this movie should look black/white.
The brightness at each pixel is proportional to the C-band VV brightness at that spot.
