How I made the image with Adobe Photoshop on a Macintosh Computer
- First, I copied the gifs for chh, lhh, and lhv to my Macintosh (you could also copy the
raw images, and in photoshop open the files as raw with dimensions of
500x500 with no header). In Netscape, you must specify that the gifs
being saved are "source" not "text" in the "file save as" window.
- Next, I opened the three files in Adobe Photoshop with the "file open as" command
(specify gif or raw)
- Next, merge the three files together. In Adobe Photoshop version
less than 2.5, this is done with the "Mode Merge channels" command,
followed by making
the channel assignments. In versions greater than
2.5, select "Window show channels", and click on the scroll arrow to see
the menu that lets you merge the three channels, with channel
assignments.
- Last, I changed the "mode" to "indexed color", and saved the files
as Compuserv Gif format.
