    Using a DEM, this simulated flight around Death Valley(8.10M) was made from the SIR-C flight one data L-band data.

    Here is a panoramic ground photo(331k) of Death Valley. This photo was taken from a location near the sand dunes near Stovepipe Wells. It was taken just days after the first flight of SIR-C.

    Here is a handheld photo image (144k) of Death Valley from the STS-59 SRL-1 Space Shuttle mission that carried SIR-C/X-SAR into orbit on their first mission in April, 1994.
