Washington DC: DC From Space

Below is a 3-dimensional radar image of Washington DC. This radar image was produced by the AIRSAR (Airborne Imaging Radar Synthetic Aperture Radar) group at JPL. You will need 3-D glasses with red and blue (or green) filters to see this image properly. You may obtain these inexpensive glasses from your local comic book store. Look through the red filter with your left eye and the blue/green filter with your right eye. North is up. If you look closely, you can discern freeways, major streets and rivers from this image. You can also discern hills, bridges and buildings.
