SIR-C data has a unique data format : The "CEOS" format convention has been used in structuring the files, and it utilizes an efficient compression scheme when storing the radar data. This sample data set has been constructed so that novice radar users, software developers and interested scientists can learn how to read and decode the data. (Alternatively, users can simply request the software that JPL has developed if they want to read and decode the data)
