JPL Conversion Tools and Analysis/Display Software for SIR-C/XSAR and AIRSAR Data

CEOS_READER Reads SIR-C data from tape, copies data to disk, reads headers and outputs ASCII header files to disk. Runs on unix and VMS computers.

DCOMP Subroutines for decompression and recompression of SIR-C data. For any format SIR-C data, or AIRSAR format data, synthesizes any polarization from quad pol data or a given polarization from dual and single pol data to a byte image. Multilooks data to desired amount. Runs on unix and VMS computers.

CVERT Converts between different AIRSAR and SIR-C data formats. Multilooks data to desired amount. Runs on unix and VMS computers.

SIRC-REG Displays and co-registers SIR-C, XSAR, AIRSAR, and byte image data with IDL graphical interface. Runs on SUN computers with IDL.

RAVEN IDL graphical interface, synthesizes any polarization from quad pol data, calculates polarization signatures, performs statistical analysis. Works with both SIR-C and AIRSAR format data. Full functionality with SIR-C data is forthcoming. Runs on SUN computers with IDL.

MACSIGMA0 Displays AIRSAR, JERS-1, Magellan, and byte data. Analyzes corner reflectors, performs statistical analysis, and zooms in to data. Runs on Macintosh computers with 8 bit graphics. This software is available through COSMIC.

POLCAL Calibration and calibration verification of AIRSAR data. Analysis of corner reflectors and distributed targets. Correction to AIRSAR antenna pattern errors due to errors in altitude or roll. Topographic calibrations may be performed. Will soon be available for calibration and calibration verification of SIR-C data. This software is available through COSMIC.

SAR Data Formats

SIR-C MLC SIR-C Multilook Complex data is quad or dual pol compressed cross products of the Stokes Matrix. Generally converted to ground range projection.

SIR-C MLD SIR-C Multilook Detected is single pol multilook power detected data, 8 bit mantissa, 8 bit exponent. Generally converted to ground range projection.

SIR-C SLC SIR-C Singlelook Complex is quad, dual, or single pol compressed scattering matrix data Generally in the slant range projection.

XSAR XSAR Multilook Detected data, 16 bit unsigned integer, single pol.

AIRSAR CM AIRSAR quad pol compressed Stokes matrix data. Generally in the slant range projection. Similar to SIR-C MLC.
